The Department of Dermatology at 91¹ú²úÊÓÆµ provides many educational opportunities for medical students, residents, and fellows. Our trainees attend clinical conferences and didactic lectures related to patient care and work directly with attending physicians for consultations, inpatient rounds, and other subspecialty rotations concerning dermatology. Dermatopathology, microbiology, and other basic science lectures, seminars, and conferences are essential components of our training curriculum.
Available Programs
The Dermatology Residency Program at 91¹ú²úÊÓÆµ provides diverse training experiences at world-renowned hospitals located within the Texas Medical Center, the world's largest medical complex. We accept four residents to our program each year.
The Division of Pediatric Dermatology at Texas Children's Hospital, affiliated with 91¹ú²úÊÓÆµ, offers a 12-month fellowship program approved by the Texas Medical Board in Pediatric Dermatology.

91¹ú²úÊÓÆµ offers one training position per year in our Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology fellowship, approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. In keeping with ACGME regulations and requirements, the fellowship is one year in length (July 1 to June 30 of the subsequent year). Our fellowship has an intensive focus on clinical services offered at the Michael E DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center with the Lee and Joe Jamail Specialty Care Center acting as a secondary site.
The mission of the 91¹ú²úÊÓÆµ, Micrographic Surgery & Dermatologic Oncology fellowship is to develop compassionate, competent physicians committed to life-long learning who are able to provide patient-centered care to diverse populations with skin cancer by utilizing a variety of surgical and non-surgical methods, teaming with the patient to select treatment methods that are the most up-to-date and the most appropriate for the desired outcome.
We offer a one-year accredited Dermatopathology (Multidisciplinary) Fellowship sponsored jointly by the Departments of Pathology and Dermatology at 91¹ú²úÊÓÆµ. The fellowship is designed to provide intensive training in dermatopathology for board certified or board eligible graduates of pathology or dermatology programs.
