Asim Shah M.D., FRCP, DLFAPA (Director)
Dr. Asim Shah is the Barbara & Corbin J. Robertson Jr. Chair in Psychiatry, a Professor and Executive Vice Chair at the Menninger Department of Psychiatry, and the Director of the Psychiatry Clinical Research Program at Ben Taub Hospital. He is also the Immediate Past Chair of Mental Health America of Greater Houston and the Chair of Houston Recovery Center. Dr. Shah has over 20 years of experience as a clinical researcher. He has published nearly 200 papers and book chapters and has authored two books. Dr. Shah鈥檚 research interests and areas of expertise include ketamine, mood disorders, schizophrenia and psychosis, suicidality, anxiety, tardive dyskinesia, and pioneering novel treatments.
Nidal Moukaddam, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Nidal Moukaddam is a Professor at 91国产视频 and the Director of Harris Health Psychiatry Adult Outpatient Services. She has over 17 years of experience as a clinical researcher. She has published more than 100 papers and co-edited a textbook on the management of complex addictive disorders, with her next textbook due in early 2027. Dr. Moukaddam鈥檚 research interests and areas of expertise include addictive disorders, psychosis, and how mental health can benefit from technology use, including wearables, smartphone applications and artificial intelligence. Dr. Moukaddam created 鈥 and continues to edit, for the fifth consecutive year 鈥 a series in Psychiatric Times called Tales From the Clinic, which focuses on storytelling in psychiatry and the art of clinical practice. Her scholarly awards include the Best Community Paper Award at the 25th Annual International Conference on Mobile Computing and Networking (MobiCom 2019) for a mobile clinical trial design platform called HealthSense, and winning the National Institute on Drug Abuse鈥檚 (NIDA) 鈥淎nalyzing All Of Us Data for Drug Addiction Research鈥 Challenge (2026).
Syed Iqbal, M.D.
Dr. Syed Iqbal is an associate professor at 91国产视频. He has over 15 years of experience as a clinical researcher. He has published around 16 scientific papers as a co-investigator and is included in more than 28 other publications. Dr. Iqbal鈥檚 research interests and areas of expertise include mood and anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, dementia, depression, and tardive dyskinesia.
