Professional Statement
Eric Martinez has been with 91¹ú²úÊÓÆµ (BCM) Emergency Medicine since 2012. In April 2026, he became core faculty in the BCM Physician Assistant Program. Within the department of Emergency Medicine, he serves as the Director of Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Development and Academic Affairs, leading APP professional development. He previously served as program director for the Emergency Medicine APP postgraduate training program. He is NCCPA Board certified and holds a certificate of added qualification (CAQ) in Emergency Medicine.
Eric served on the BCM Faculty Senate from 2020 to 2023 and was recently appointed to the Harris Health System Medical Staff Advisory Council. In 2021, he was elected to the American Academy of Physician Associates Board of Directors after serving as president of the Texas Academy of PAs in 2019. He received the BCM NRF Award for Excellence in Teaching and Evaluation in 2025. His alma mater, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, inducted him into the Phi Alpha Honor Society in 2019 and named him a Distinguished Alumnus in 2024. In 2023, BCM awarded him the Carl Fasser Visionary Leadership Award.
