Professional Statement

Dr. Lucas Dvoracek graduated from medical school at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, and then completed Plastic Surgery Residency training at the University of Pittsburgh, one of the most long-standing and respected training programs in the country. During training, he completed an additional year of research in both basic science and clinical projects. He then went on to train for an additional year at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC as the Pediatric Plastic Surgery and Craniofacial Surgery Fellow, where he was a Clinical Instructor and received specialized training in facial and hand trauma, general reconstruction, orthognathic surgery, cranial vault reconstruction, cranioplasty, rhinoplasty, and cleft lip and palate repair.

Dr. Dvoracek’s passion is reconstructive surgery, the goal of which is to restore both form and function to patients who have been affected by traumatic injuries, congenital differences, and all types of disfigurement. He has a busy and diverse clinical practice which includes both pediatric and adult patients. His academic interests include teaching medical students and training residents, as well as research in improving the care of patients with facial trauma using modern 3D printing technology.
