Professional Statement
Dr. Susan Gillespie is an associate professor of pediatrics at 91¹ú²úÊÓƵ. Since joining BIPAI, Dr. Gillespie has worked in Zambia, Kyrgyzstan, Kenya and most recently served as the director of medical services in Tanzania where two BIPAI clinical centers of excellence are located.
Dr. Gillespie also provides pediatric primary care at San Jose Clinic, a clinic for high quality, comprehensive medical care to uninsured adults and children in the Houston area. Her interests include medical education, adolescent and youth HIV/AIDS and care for underserved populations.
A graduate of Northwestern University, she completed her medical and graduate school training through the Medical Scientist Training Program at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She completed her pediatric residency training at Washington University, St. Louis Children's Hospital. Prior to joining BIPAI, Dr. Gillespie served as clerkship director in the Department of Pediatrics at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee.
