To provide flexibility beyond the Cytometry and Cell Sorting Core’s standard business hours, individuals and labs may complete training that enables unassisted cell sorting on the BD Discover S8s and Sony MA900. These instruments are highly automated and more user‑friendly than the BD FACSArias.
Unassisted sorting on the BD FACSArias is also available; however, it requires more extensive, hands‑on training due to the complexity of the system.
Completion of these trainings grants users 24/7 access to the respective sorters, allowing use at any time, day or night (*external users must adhere to core's business hours due to security access).
